Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2015 with family. Devoted wife of the late Gordon. Cherished mother of Cheryl (Doug Laing), Brad (Denise Waller) and Elaine (Stephen Pope). Proud Grandma to Danielle, Brett, Nicole, Suzanne, Matthew, Jeremy, Christopher, Ryan, Kevin, Alyssa and doting great-Grandma to Olivia and Sophie. Loving sister to Helen Smith, Doreen Richards (Charlie), Lloyd Smith (Vi), and predeceased by siblings Shirley Smith, Mary McKessock, Jean Moore, Jackie Smith, Doris Smith, and Ray Smith. Daughter of the late Norman and Ferna Smith. Sister-in-law of Myrtie (Lynn) Stade. Irene will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by family and friends. Visitation will take place at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Rd., Scarborough, on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place in the Jerrett Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 1 p.m. with visitation One hour prior. Family interment will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 1 pm at Chesley Cemetery. If desired, donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
