It is with heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Janet Ward, a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Janet grew up in Napanee and spent her adult life in Toronto and Scarborough, living a life full of resilience, colour, and song.
She was the daughter of Poppy and Manson Stevens, and was predeceased by her husband Peter, and her brothers Donald, Reginald, and William. She was mother to Richard, Laurie, and Chris, and a proud grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings John, Carol, Ted, Anne, and George.
Janet attended the school for the blind in Brantford, where she developed the strength and spirit that would define her life. A woman of deep faith, Janet found joy in singing, especially with her community at St. Andrew’s Church.
Known for her vibrant personality, love of bling, and colourful style, Janet brought sparkle and humour to every room she entered. She will be remembered for her joyful energy.
A donation, if you would like to make one, would be appreciated for the Scarborough Health Network Foundation to be used to support the oncology program, or for the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre Foundation to support the Palliative Care Unit.
