October 14, 1965 – September 7, 2025
Died suddenly and unexpectedly in his sleep during a fun-filled weekend with loving family.
For over 30 years, Jeff was the loving partner of Michael Robertson, and they built a wonderful life together.
Jeff was the beloved son of the late Ken and the late Susan (Wigham) Melick, brother of Ken (Cindy) Melick and proud uncle to Melissa. Jeff was the son-in-law of Linda and the brother-in-law of Ian and Rosalie, Kevin and Mohan, Andrea and Dave.
He adored his many nieces and nephews and was a wonderful uncle to Emily, Sarah, Jonathan, Tyler, Abby, Kiran and Anya. Jeff was also a nephew of Chris Wigham and Lorraine Wigham (the late Peter Wigham) and a loving cousin of John, Christine, Sarah (Alex) and Michelle.
Jeff was a loving cousin of Martha and Ian Turner along with their family, Ben, Carla, Arthur, Caitlin and Lara Turner, Chris, Becca and Jake Turner in the United Kingdom. Many joyful hours were spent together in England and in Canada.
Jeff worked in the hospitality industry including hotels and airlines. He got to enjoy his love of travel with his time as a flight attendant. Later, Jeff and Michael had the opportunity to see many parts of the world together including great trips in Canada, the Caribbean and in Europe.
Jeff was born and raised in Willowdale and graduated from Earl Haig Secondary School. He made lifelong friendships during his younger years including with his colleagues from Toys R Us. Among many other things, he will be remembered for his wicked sense of humour and infectious laugh.
In recent years, Jeff struggled with some health issues including overcoming a cancer diagnosis and coping with the on-going effects of the treatment.
Jeff lived a full life in a short time; surrounded by love and joy. He was proud of his nieces and nephews as well as the children of our friends as we watched them grow up to become accomplished young adults. He is reunited with Kitty and Declan.
At Jeff’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation and private scattering of the ashes have occurred. However, in keeping with the tradition of not following Jeff’s wishes, Michael will be hosting a celebration of life, details to follow.
Donations to Princess Margaret Hospital or the University Health Network in Jeff’s memory would be appreciated. PMH was instrumental in helping Jeff through the cancer treatment and UHN is where Michael was successfully treated for heart issues.
