Jessie Catherine Johnston

Our dearest Mom and Grandma died peacefully on Wednesday April 12, 2017

in her 92nd year, after a long and fulfilling life. That life began in a poor Cape Breton household

where she lived through the great depression with her family of nine. That experience and wartime service

in the CWAC (she made it to the rank of Lance-Corporal) shaped Mom's approach to life; she was frugal

and careful, resourceful, hardworking and utterly devoted to her children Robert, Diane and Charles, her cherished Granddaughter

Elizabeth, and her son-in-law David, who all survive her. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis, in 2007.

Mom never wanted anything more than the love of her family and gave that back in abundance. She is also survived by her last remaining sibling Lillian.

We will miss having Mom with us being her usual kind, sweet self but are grateful for the life she had and her time with us.

Visitation will be at Trull Funeral Home Danforth Chapel, 1111 Danforth Avenue, Toronto on Friday April 14, 2017 from 1-4 pm

and 6-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday April 15, 2017 at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at

Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst St, North York at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to

the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Ontario SPCA.
