Lots of great memories of Jock - One of a kind

My condolences to Jock's family and friends especially Hans and Diane who did so much for him. I worked with Jock for a few month's in the 80's at Queen's Park. I was new to Canada back then and I will never forget how much he helped me at that time. He had a wonderful sense of humour and I always enjoyed our chats and the beers we had together. He was such a positive person and in later years even though he was not mobile he never gave up talking about how he was going to play golf with me next year. A great guy, he will be dearly missed. Rest in peace Jock.

Jock...Buggah, mate. You were one of the good guys. I well remember our chats on the occasional Wednesday night when the boys used to get together at Hemingways. Rest peacefully.

Very sad to lose one of the Boys. Jock had a better memory than an elephant. He would remind me of what I did on what night when 
 on one of our yacht trips in the  Caribbean. ..many things I was trying to forget. What a memory. We had great times together as most of us were Kiwis that ended up in Toronto for various reasons.
We will miss is dry sense of humour that was always evident either in person or on the phone. In later years he made the best of the situation which showed his strong sense of character .

 I was saddened to hear the news of Jock passing. I had just spoken to him prior and he was in good spirits. Our condolences  to the family, Hans and Diana and fellow kiwis.
  Looking back on the great days at Hemingway's and Kiwi corner Jock would sit at the usual place every Wednesday.
 Many a story would be told some true and not so much! 
  He will be missed !

My name is Willie and I was a good mate of Jock's. I met Jock many years ago in the mid 80s in Toronto Canada at the famous kiwi watering hole known as Hemingway's . We shared many a cold beverage and laughs back in the day. My best memory of Jock and I was when we went on vacation together to Cancun, Mexico. It was a truck load of fun from start to finish and really sealed our relationship for many years to come. Jock would always call and say to me "Willie mate, you coming for a beer"He loved his beer. I later moved to the states and Kiwi ( Murray) always made sure Jock was at Hemingway's with his cold beer when I came back to Toronto, usually to perform a gig for Martin. Jock always remembered me the moment he saw me.  His smile would lite up the patio bar. He had a great smile. I was forever grateful that the NZ community kept many of us abreast of Jocks progress over the years , especially Hans ,Diane, Kiwi & Martin.  I feel so fortunate that we were able to speak on the phone recently ( mid April) and had a good laugh about our past. Jock told me he was going to meet up and have a cold brew with me at Hemingway's this week actually, but it wasn't to be for many reasons. Much respect to you Jock. You will be sadly missed.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jock.  My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.  
I just learned this morning that Jock had passed as I did a search on his name.  I have known Jock back in the 90s when he and I were colleagues at the Ministry of Natural Resources.  His services were retained as he was an expert in the software at the time (COBOL).  I bet he had created or updated most if not all of the programs in that library.  He was good at his trade.  Jock had a certain style about him, the way he walked, spoke, his sense of humour, his sunglasses, and his ride (red Corvette or similar).  He and I used to have many a (friendly) debates on the spiritual life.  Even though we did not manage to influence our thinking on the matter, they were good discussions, back when you can have a discourse without being labelled or being shut down.  I found him to  be a very simple man who got along with everyone (just don't call him Australian).  He will surely be missed.  I am only sorry that I had not done a search sooner and had the opportunity to reach out to him.  God bless Jock.  RIP

As much as we never got along a lot of which you never understood the farmer aka stubborn child in me, we are more alike than you even understood 
I may have been born a Girl but I am a determined strong person who will never except I can’t as a possibility 
You may have never understood me but I’m your daughter who will always respect and love you for the strength you taught me to be strong if it was something I believed in, you will forever be my Dad

My memory of Jock is through his brother, Jim Logan, and wife, Evelyn Siglos (my sister) how fond they are being with Jock. A man with great mind and sense of humour. Everlasting rest, Jock. You are now free.
