John Mark is survived by his wife, Tracy Alexander; his children, Megan Gilbert (Odaine Gilbert) and Noah Alexander (Amy Young); his grandson, Matteo Gilbert; his parents, Victoria and Claude Alexander; his brother, Claude Alexander Jr.; his beloved dog, Harley, and countless friends and loved ones.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, and later resided in Scarborough, Ontario, John Mark lived a life full of laughter, kindness, and love. He had a lifelong passion for sports, especially his love for playing hockey and cheering on Notre Dame football. John Mark’s enthusiasm and spirit inspired everyone around him.
John Mark was a devoted father who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. No matter how busy life became, he always made time for what mattered most, cheering his kids on from the sidelines, planning family trips, and creating memories filled with laughter and love.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, his big heart, and the way he could light up any room with his smile. John Mark had a special gift for making people laugh and making them feel cared for. He was a truly kind and genuine soul whose love and humour will live on in everyone who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday November 9, 2025 at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, ON, M4C 1L3 (at Main Street). Starting with the visitation at 11:00am, followed by the Memorial Service at 1:00pm. All who knew and loved John Mark are welcome to attend and share in celebrating his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association in John Mark’s memory.
