JOHN WILLIAM MILTON
Born in central London in 1941, John's earliest recollections are of sirens and air raid shelters. Having survived a childhood in boarding schools in post-war England, he began his working life at age 15 as a projectionist in Gaumont Cinema in Nottinghill Gate. Fascinated by the magic of film, he moved on to Humphries Lab where he continued to absorb information and develop his skills.
At age 31, John applied and was offered a job at Film House Lab on Front St. in Toronto. He eventually became Technical Director. He had a gift for inventing solutions and solving problems in the lab. He and his daughter Samantha became citizens as soon as possible. John never looked back. He often boasted of being a proud Canadian.
Then in 1982 John met Colleen and his life took another turn. For the next 35 years they lived and loved and laughed and travelled in their van and had adventures in exotic places and created a unique home together in the Beach. Always together. Always.
At John's request there will be no service. He has no objection however if anyone chooses to hoist a pint. Colleen and Sam will be pleased to receive friends at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home at Main & Danforth (2570 Danforth Ave.,) on Monday, January 23rd, 2017 between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
