In loving memory of Laura Victoria Agama Dionisio, we are saddened to announce her recent passing in Toronto, Ontario. Surrounded by loved ones, Laura passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in her 85th year. Beloved sister of Reynaldo Dionisio (Guadalupe), Cora Ong, Antonio Dionisio (Cynthia), Diana Howard (George), Purita Evangelista (Ramon) and Edwin Dionisio (Ophelia). Cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews, and Lola to grand nieces and grand nephews in the Philippines, USA and Canada.
Laura was born in Sandakan, Malaysia and moved to Toronto Canada in 1972 where she worked in the payroll at the CFTO television station for twenty years. The eldest daughter in a family of nine, Laura was a steadfast supporter of her family, sponsoring her four sisters and brothers and her parents to join her in Canada. Small but mighty, Laura was a fighter with a big heart. She was selfless, especially when it came to her family and friends - always ready to extend a helping hand whenever someone was in need.
She had a joyful spirit, embracing life with a positive outlook despite the ailments and illnesses she faced. Her steadfast faith in the Sacred Heart, Mother Mary, the Divine Mercy and Father Pio, carried her through the years, especially through her battle with liver cancer. Laura was an adventurer, an inventor and avid learner. She loved to reminisce about her childhood in Malaysia, entertaining us with stories of the jungle, of its snakes, dangers and great beauty.
Rest in peace our beloved Laura, we will miss your beautiful smile. You carefully tended a bountiful garden with plots for each one of us, nurturing us with your prayers and acts of love. We all have fond childhood memories of you which will live in our hearts forever. You’ve shown us how to live each day with gratitude, forgiveness and courage. We will miss you but know you have your trusty trolley in hand, ready to embark on your new adventures ahead.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Yee Hong Peter K. Kwok Hospice for their support in helping create a truly loving, peaceful atmosphere during Laura’s final days.
