Margaret McKay

Beautiful, beloved Peggy passed away at Toronto on December 17, 2013 three days shy of her 89th birthday. Loving mother to Shona (Warren, deceased) and Neil (Meryl) and tender grandmother to Daniel, Luke, Ffion and Nia. Predeceased by her sister Isobel and brothers Billy, Jimmy and Tony, Peggy will be greatly missed by her brother Andrew (Meg), sisters Winnie and Barbara (Ottavio), sister-in-law Mary, brother- in-law Tony and dear nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland and Australia. Born in Edinburgh, Peggy served as a WREN in the Second World War and immigrated to Toronto with her husband Neil and young family in 1958. She loved solitary pastimes including crossword puzzles, reading and knitting. But it was her family that gave her the greatest joy. In later years, Alzheimer's robbed Peggy of much but until the end her brave spirit, innate kindness and loving nature endured. Her family give thanks to the staff at Wellesley Central Place who treated her always with dignity and friendship. Relatives and friends will be welcomed on Friday, December 20th at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street (south of Wellesley) at 12 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 1 p.m.
