July 11, 1939 – October 17th 2024
Margaret (nee MacLellan) McQuade,85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17th after a brief illness at the Toronto General. An avid Blue Jay fan, winning or losing, Marg was a natural storyteller and keeper of family history. She was loved for her hilarious sense of humour and quick wit. She enjoyed being involved at her busy Co-op and a highlight for her was the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage with friends. She loved to read, enjoyed watching the news and British T.V. shows, having cups of tea (usually Red Rose), walking to have her tea and muffin at the local McDonald’s and loved Christmas. She studied at Centennial College and spent fifteen years working as a secretary at St. Mike’s and ten years at Mount Sinai. She fondly spoke of her time there.
Marg is survived by her two sons and daughter, Andrew, Robert, and Diane. She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers, Diane and Joan (Montreal) and Scott and Louie (Halifax, New Waterford) and nieces and nephews, Rhonda, Joanna, Debra, David, Angela, Tammy, Tommy, Tricia, Joe, Darren, and Danielle.
Marg was born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia to John Archie and Jessie MacLellan. She was predeceased by her brothers, John Allan, William David, Daniel, Michael, Robert, Peter, Carl, Alex, and sisters, Annie, Kathleen, Alexandra, Sydney, and Rose Marie.
Marg will be missed so much by her many friends and family.
The family would like to thank the Toronto General and especially Fudger House staff for their kindness and care of Margaret while she stayed in their care.
Visitation will take place for family and friends on Friday October 25th from 3pm-7pm with the memorial taking place on Saturday, October 26 at 1pm at the Rosar Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street, in Toronto ON.
