Margaret Rose Ramsden

January 26 1938 to February 4, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our matriarch on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Devoted wife of Albert “Abby” for 60 wonderful years. Cherished mother of Brenda Dixon (Dave), David Ramsden (Tish), and Diane Ramsden. Proud grandmother of Candice (Mark), Kiel, Ryan, Kevin, and Madelyn. Beloved sister of Helen (Gerry), the late Norman, and the late Bill. Born in Toronto to the late William and Martha O’Brien. Marg met Abby at the young age of 13 and they have been together ever since. She spent most of her young adult years taking care of her family and looking after many of the neighbours’ children as well. A honourary Mom to everyone, she was always willing to give a helping hand. She volunteered at Regent Heights Public School for many years. Marg would often retell neighbourhood tales of days-gone-by: corn roasts, cottage trips, and backyard pool parties. She loved life and all of the people in her life with passion and heart. Marg will be greatly missed by her Vernadale family, past and present residents, and by her many friends she has made and kept throughout the years for her love of dancing, socializing, and her friendly energy. Marg had an unforgettable laugh and beautiful smile that lit up the room even as she battled breast cancer and survived. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 12 pm - 3 pm at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough. If desired, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
