With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Maria-Michela (Michelina) D’Aversa on September 8, 2023 at the age of 89. Born in Guardiaregia, Italy to the late Nicholangelo and Lucia Sampogna. Michelina is reunited in Heaven with her husband Matteo (2015). Loving mother of Antonietta and Tony (Teresa). Cherished Nonna to Matthew Timothy D’Aversa and Anthony (Stephanie) Simone. Bisnonna to Madeline Elizabeth. Michelina is survived by her sisters Filomena, Assunta and sister-in-law Christina. She will be forever remembered and greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 4-8 pm, and Monday, September 11 from 2-4 & 6- 9pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at St. Nicholas of Bari Church (1277 St. Clair Ave. W., Toronto) at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery (8361 Yonge St., Thornhill.).
