My deepest condolences on your family’s loss. Maria was practically a member of our family since I was only 5 years old. She always made me feel special and we will miss her greatly. May she rest in peace and may God comfort you in your time of grief.

Maria and us have been neighbours for almost a decade and we will always remember her as the kindest and most engaging person. She was always ready to help others and was glue to the neighbourhood. One would often see her volunteering at the church and serving food to the community. She loved to work hard in her garden and was always sharing her freshly harvested produce. Deepest condolences to the family. You will be greatly missed.

Maria and my Mother were first cousins. Both were strong willed and you can imagine would get into some heated debates over the years. But what I remember the most is that Maria was always able to find humour in those debates. She had a great sense of humour where my mother was dour. I loved making her laugh and regret that I did not do it more often. She was also my neighbour and on many walks with my puppy I would pass by her home and wave to her as she sat on her veranda always with a friend or neighbour next to her. She was always around others, laughing and enjoying her time with us. I was close by and yet far away. That is my loss.
