

Born on November 8, 1929 in Viana do Castelo, Portugal and spent her life surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
She has been reunited with her cherished husband, Felix Pires Ferreira, who passed away on July 2 of 1958.
Maria was known for her unwavering kindness, infectious laughter, and the warmth she brought to every gathering. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family, creating a home filled with love and joy. She cherished every moment spent with her family, celebrating milestones and offering wisdom, comfort, and support.
A passionate singer, Maria had a voice that could light up a room. Whether performing at family gatherings or leading sing-alongs at community events, her love for music was infectious.
In addition to her musical talents, Maria was a dedicated crocheter. She found joy in creating beautiful pieces for family and friends, pouring love into each stitch. Her handmade gifts were cherished keepsakes, each one a testament to her creativity and thoughtfulness.
She leaves behind her daughters; Maria de Lourdes Martins (David), Maria das Merces Vilarinho (Antonio), and Maria Madalena Ferreira (Antonio), her grandchildren; Maria Zita (Manuel), Manuel Albano (Lucia), David (Sandra), Patricia (Maurizio), Carlos (Bruna), Luis Miguel (Lyndsay), and Pedro (Aiden), Her legacy lives through her great-grandchildren; Annelise, Joshua, Kristen, Vanessa, Gabriel, Grace, Alyssa, Emily, Elisa, and Isadora. A wide circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation for Maria will be held on Monday October 7 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Jerrett Funeral Home- St. Clair Chapel, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W.
Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday October 8 at 10:30am at St. Mary of the Angels Parish, 1480 Dufferin St. Please note that parking is very limited at the church, please go ahead, allowing the family private time prior to the mass.
Entombment to follow at Prospect Cemetery, 1450 St. Clair Ave. W.
