He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Marie; children: Tara (Tristan), Michael (Emily) and A.J. (Mattie-Rose); grandchildren: Sofia, Isabel and Charles; sister, Anna; his uncle whom he loved like a brother, Tony (Jane); as well as his many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Gino and Nina Paluzzi, whom we know he is overjoyed to see again.
Mario was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, where he loved watching hockey with his dad and going fishing with his friends by the river – passions he would later pass on to his own children. He was an incredible cook, a talent no doubt learned
from his mother and shared widely, to the delight of everyone lucky enough to experience it.
He attended the University of Toronto and York University where he made many friends, including his best friend of 50 years, Dave Salari, and met his wife-to-be, Marie, whom he loved immensely and unconditionally every day after.
He and Marie lived and worked in the Greater Toronto Area and welcomed Tara, Michael and A.J. into the world. With a career spanning sales, advertising and communications, Mario was universally liked and respected by his colleagues for his commitment to his teams and compassion for his co-workers and clients.
The family moved to Sault Ste. Marie shortly after A.J.’s birth to be closer to Mario’s family and raise good, honest Northern Ontarians. While Mario had many joys and successes in life, he was never more proud of anything than he was of his children and grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 11th at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 520 Sherbourne St, Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ARCH Hospice, 229 Fourth Line W, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 0B5.
The family would like to thank the staff of Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home for their care and compassion during this difficult time
