Minas Tzortzis

He is survived by his children, Magda (Ozzie) and Angelo, and his grandchildren Marissa and Miranda.

He is also survived by his second wife of 23 years, Tasia and stepchildren, Nella (Derrick) and Gus (Christina) Stavropoulos and his step-grandchildren William, Mary and Jaxson.

Minas was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years, Stella (nee Kallinikou) of Lazania, Cyprus, and his beloved parents, Evangelos Tzortzis and Magdalini Kariachtopoulou.

Minas was born in Istiaia, Evia, Greece on October 3, 1945. He spent his childhood surrounded by his beloved maternal extended family. At the age of 16, he went to find work in Bremerhaven, Germany, returning to serve in the Greek army a few years later, where he was stationed in Cyprus.

Minas brought his family to Toronto, Canada in March 1973, where he lived until his death, developing long-lasting and wonderful relationships with many friends, who he thought of as family.

Known for his heart-felt, happy and welcoming nature, Minas, will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Minas’ family asks that he be remembered for the joy he brought to others in life, not the sadness of his passing.

All friends and family are welcome to the Celebration of Life, to be held at Jerrett Funeral Home on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 between 2-4pm

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or any other gifts, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in his memory.
