

Neil Gordon, aged 71, passed away on March 31, 2021, in Scarborough, Ontario. He was born on March 27, 1950, in Guyana, South America, to the late Doris and Albert Gordon. Neil was the youngest of three siblings, including Glona Gordon Strick and Princess Gordon Wallace, as well as his late brother, Bernard Gordon.
Neil attended Friendship Government School and County High School, where he completed advanced O levels and achieved 13 grade ones. He then entered the University of Guyana, where he earned an advanced degree in science. Neil was multilingual, speaking Spanish, Portuguese, and English. In addition to his academic accomplishments, he was an author and wrote a book titled "Hunting for Gold."
Neil worked for Guyana Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), a public company whose shares are traded on the Guyana Stock Exchange. The company offers a diverse range of products and services while maintaining a strong commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability. After immigrating to Canada, Neil found employment at a printing company, where he continued to work until his retirement.
He was the husband of Maria Helena Donique, and they had no children. He was the uncle of Sidwell Wallace, Ama Wilson, and Zara Gordon, as well as a great-uncle to Ayodele Wallace, Tshekidi, Cheaka, and Kawama Wilson. He was also a great-great-uncle to Joshua.
Neil had several relatives, including Gordons, Dovers, Sams, and Millers. His family included his nephew-in-law, David Wilson, and his niece-in-law, Shelly Wallace. He was neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Azim Abrahim and had many friends, such as Brichmore Robertson, Derrick Roberts, Charles Griffith, Jerome Williams, Roger Seymour, Philbert Laundry, and others. Additionally, Neil was a brother-in-law to Joanne Gordon and an uncle-in-law to David Wilson and Shelly Wallace.
Funeral arrangements for Joseph Neil Gordon will take place at the 16 Friendship E.C.D. in Guyana, South America. The family of Neil Gordon would like to thank everyone who sent their condolences and kindness during this time of grief.
