Palmira was born on June 2, 1934, in San Vito sullo Ionio, Catanzaro, Italy. She carried with her the warmth, strength, and traditions of her homeland throughout her life, sharing them generously with all who knew her.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband and best friend, Ottavio, who predeceased her in 2007. The loss of Ottavio was a heartbreak she carried deeply, as it felt as though a part of her was gone with him. Today, we take comfort in knowing they are together again.
Palmira was a devoted and cherished mother to Franca, Vito, Maria, and Ottavio Salvatore “Sam.” She was a proud and caring Nonna to Elliot, Dante, Kyle, and Julie, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
A true matriarch, Palmira was the heart of her family. She was selfless, endlessly loving, and always positive, even in the face of life’s challenges. She valued peace above all else and was a natural peacemaker, always bringing people together with her gentle wisdom and kind spirit.
Palmira found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved cooking for her family, filling her home with warmth and delicious meals. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed listening to Italian music—especially her favorite, Claudio Villa—and watching Italian television programs that reminded her of home.
Though her passing leaves a deep void, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at rest, free from suffering. They hold onto their faith and the hope of one day being reunited with her in God’s kingdom.
Palmira will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered. She will remain in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
