Phyllis Elaine Coy

Phyllis was a brilliant scholar, devoted mother, and lifelong educator. She is survived by four of her children: Maria, Christopher, Frances, and Lisa; Twelve of her grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Aaron, Kyle, Quentin, Jesaiah, Danyael, Jonah, Aliya, Jazmin, Izabelle, and Izaac; six great grandchildren and one on the way; her sisters and brother (Yvonne, Earl, Grace-Patricia, and Theresa); her extended family; and the countless students, friends, and community members whose lives she so deeply touched.

Phyllis is predeceased by her parents, Adrian and Iris Hollar; her brothers, Dennis and Garnet; her husband, Anthony Coy; her daughter, Suzanne Coy; and her granddaughter, Deziree Phyllis Theresa Batey. We honour her beautiful life and legacy, assured that she now rests in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held at Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W., on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Clare’s Catholic Church, 1118 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario. Interment at Riverside Cemetery.
