Mr. Pierre Richard Poirier

At home, surrounded by his family, on March 30, 2011 in his 61st year. Cherished husband of Georgia for 32 years. Proud father of Patrick and Mia. Loving son of Pauline and the late Alphonse. Survived by aunts Therese Poirier and Lorette Fedden.

Richard will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Corner family: Virginia; Rosemary (John, David (Vanessa Buttimer) and Morgan Lindsay); Carol (Bev Daniels); Bob (Christina, Rosalind and Matthew); Amy (Burke Maidlow, Max and Zachary Leighton); Connie (Gordon and Sam Walker); and Jean Deacon.

Born in Montreal, where he obtained two undergraduate degrees and later an MBA from Concordia University, Richard was a leader in the building materials industry. His most recent position was with Andersen Windows and Doors as Canadian Sales Manager (2000-2010).

Richard was a charming, caring family man with a keen intellect, a phenomenal memory and a passion for fast cars, storytelling, the Beatles, skiing, travel and political debate. His positive outlook and joie de vivre inspired everyone who had the privilege to know him.

A Celebration of Richard's life will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Tusday April 5, 2011 at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the charity of your choice. On line condolences may be made at www.trullfuneralsyonge.com.
