Peacefully at the Toronto East General Hospital on Friday, December 13, 2013 in his 82nd year. Ray, beloved husband of Marlene. Loving father of Shelly (Scott), Keith, Julie and her late husband Tom. Dear Grandad of Denise, Shannon, Eric, Jennifer, Raymond, Steven, Lucas and Cooper. Dear great-grandad of Carly and Jacob.
Friends and relatives will be received at the Giffen-Mack "Danforth" Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave. (at Main St. subway station), 416-698-3121, on Wednesday, December 18 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. A service will follow in the Giffen-Mack Chapel at 5 p.m.

God saw Ray was getting tired
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped His arms around him
And whispered, “Come to Me”.
In tears we saw him sinking,
We watched him fade away.
Our hearts were truly broken,
He fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw Ray sleeping
Peacefully and free from pain,
We could not wish him back
To suffer that again.
So keep Your arms around Ray, Lord,
And give him special care,
Make up for all he suffered,
That seemed to us unfair.
So many times we’ve needed him,
So many times we’ve cried.
If love could have saved him,
Ray never would have died.
