Rina Rugosi

Born in Pordenone, Italy on February 10, 1927, Rina grew up working the farm with her two siblings and parents. She married Giuseppe in 1950 and relocated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada on May 13, 1955 where they raised their 3 children together.

Rina is the cherished mother to Dion (Maria Rosaria), Claudia (Luciano), and Franco (Diane). Treasured Nonna to Michael, Christina (Robin), Daniel (Kelsie), Natasha, Julia (Matthew), John, James, Andrew, Peter, and Matthew. Beloved Bisnonna to Abbigayle, Sophia, Bianca, and Lucas. And a devoted cognata and a loving Zia to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.

Rina will be remembered for her cooking, especially her gnocchi and crostoli, and her love of gardening. She had a talent for sewing and knitting and loved dancing with her husband. She also enjoyed countless summers spent in Lignano, Italy with family and friends.

Rina would offer a warm welcome to anyone who stepped foot in her home. Her captivating stories and her loving and supportive advice brought inspiration and comfort to many. She gave love and joy to all, but especially to her family who she loved so deeply.

She will forever be remembered, loved, and deeply missed by all that knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, in tribute to her late husband.
