Rita Scofano

Rita was born on September 28, 1929 in Cosenza, Italy and passed away on March 15, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the age of 94 years.

Rita departed peacefully, embraced by the love of her family, on Friday, March 15, 2024.

She now rests in eternal peace, reunited with her cherished husband, Giuseppe, in the embrace of Heaven.

She leaves behind a legacy of love as the devoted mother of Silvana (Tony), Marcello (Olga), and Mauro (Luisa). Rita was the adored grandmother of Sara, Ivana, Marco, Sabrina, Jessica, Josef, Daniel, and Rita, and the cherished great-grandmother of Claudia, Alessia, Mia, Ava, Lucas, Olivia, Antonio, Matteo, Giacomo, and Noah. Rita will be fondly remembered by her sister, Ana, and sister-in-law, Yolanda. She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, and their families. Yet, she remains eternally cherished and remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W. (1 block east of Dufferin), on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

A Funeral Mass to honor Rita's life will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at St. Clare Church, 1118 St. Clair Ave. W., at 11:15am.

PLEASE NOTE: On the morning of the Mass, we would ask that all friends go directly to the church allowing the family some private time prior to the service.

Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst St. Toronto.

If desired, donations in Memory of Rita Scofano be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society.
