I have just heard about the news recently and am deeply saddened. He was a wonderful man to work with and my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I just found out about Ron's passing three months after the fact. He was a lovely, warm, intelligent man and a pleasure to work with. I'm very sad for his family's loss.

My deep condolences to Ron's family. Ron was a generous and patient producer for whom I had the privilege of working in the 1970s.

My deepest sympathy to Ron's family on learning of his passing. I knew Ron as a classmate of R.T.A. 60, and as a Rho Alpha Kappa brother.I know he will be greatly missed.

Dear Jeannie,
I just heard this morning of Ron's passing and would have liked to express my condolences in person, but I wouldn't be able to get from Ottawa to Toronto in time. I'm so sorry and saddened by this news but cannot help at the same time to smile for all the extraordinary good times and memories I shared with both of you.
I don't know why but Ron (and Bill) took me under their wing when they produced the great television special "The Crazy Canucks" and became partners with me in a sports marketing business. Ron was unquestionably one of the smartest people   I knew with incredible business acumen and enough charm to fill a room. I was lucky enough as a young guy (then) to learn from Ron, not only about business, but life itself and that was so evident Jeannie in the way both of you lived life. Who else names their company after their kids!!!
When I think about Ron I have so many wonderful memories but the one that amazed me the most was that Ron never took 'no' as an answer. In a meeting with potential film investors or sponsors, who dared say no to Ron, it only inspired him to a whole new level of determination, with a twinkle in his eye and a wry smile he was relentless in his passion to get the funding to make great films. He certainly won more than he lost.

I feel that I have won too, just by knowing him.

I first met Ron when he was Executive Producer of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, but became most impressed with his cheerful, persuasive and imaginative approaches to problem solving.  Ron had an impressive but practical  vision for Lauron's film productions and business endeavours and it has been a great adventure to participate in his many creative film productions.   Ron knew how to encourage the best from creative participants, how to make deals and how to make the improbable possible.  And he did it all with integrity, grace under fire and his friendly optimism which made work fun.  We will all miss Ron's enthusiasm and leadership.  Condolences to Jean, Laura, Ron and family.  Ron showed us how to be a great Canadian.

Very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was a fabulous man, and so loved you and the kids. Was thinking of old Faster Foster days, when I read this. I remembered when Ron was showing some interest in you. Ida Gold came up to me and said: “Why is that GM guy hanging out around Jeannie's desk?” And I said: “I didn't have a clue?” – Even though I did! 
I am sure you, your family, and all of his friends will give him a memorable celebration tomorrow.

The world will be a poorer place without Ron - a kind, generous gentleman, and great friend.
Time spent with Ron and Jean was always great fun and heart-warming.
I will miss him tremendously, but am thankful that he was a part of our lives.

We are so sad to think of life going on without Ron in it. He was so thoughtful and caring especially to his beloved grandchildren. We will miss his wonderful sense of humour and knack for story telling.
We can't imagine how heartbroken Ron's family is and much he will be missed by all.

I knew Ron from his Earl Haig days in Willowdale and reconnected with him last year .My sincere condolences to his family.

My condolences to Ron's family & friends in his passing....I only knew him for a week, as he worked with the others at Foster advertising, in Toronto...in 1973 he, Jack Newby, another fellow and myself (Jack's brother-in-law) delivered a new houseboat from Niagara-on-the-Lake Ont. to Keswick Ont....we had a great time...everyone got along & I often wondered what became of the other fellows....now, 40 years later, I know...may he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ron. Worked with him back in the Foster days and always found him cheerful, kind and willing to share his extraordinary knowledge as part of the GM "team". A true gentlemen who will always be missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.

So very saddened by Ron's passing.  I had the extreme pleasure and privilege to work for him and his business partner, Bill, at Summerhill. The experience will remain the highlight of my career.  He was a pioneer, and the example he set for leadership and creative trust will be sorely missed.  My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

My condolences to the family and friends. One of the Silver Seven who started Rho Alpha Kappa at Ryerson in 1958. Met him at the 50th reunion. I have good memories of Ron.

A man of great stature, who thrived for decades in a tough business, fuelled by strong creative instincts.  I have many fond memories of Ron, who was one of the early stalwarts in the producer's association (the old CFTA) and had key input into the lobby to get a federal tax credit, which our industry lives by today.  A significant creative and business legacy.  My sincere condolences to the family.

Although I only worked at Summerhill briefly, it was always a remarkable experience to have Ron share his incredible knowledge and vast creativity.  His enthusiasm was unique and inspiring.  My sincerest condolences to his family.

He was an amazing man and his smile lit up his face. He was a good storyteller and he always made time for you, even though he had so little. He was a very honest and respectful person and an amazing father and he was good to his wife. I am thankful that I knew him...I haven't seen him since Highschool. I am a friend of his daughter, my deepest sympathy to Jean, Ron Jr. and Laura and all your family, he will be remembered All my Love.

Ron will be greatly missed. He has produced a number of excellent documentaries for VisionTV over the years. His professionalism, integrity and creative mind made him a pleasure to work with. My condolences to Laura and all the family.

Ron Lillie was one of the most generous producer's I have ever had the honour of meeting.  Always giving with his knowledge of the production industry and went out of his way to help mentor those just starting out or reaching higher in their careers.  Luckily the torch is passed to his daughter Laura who is equally generous of heart and soul.  My condolences to his family - close and extended.

Remembering Ron with fondest memories.I loved his devotion to his family especially to his first love Jean. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Laura, Gabriel and Michael... his shining stars... he will be missed so much.
