                  ZIA EVERINA WAS MY FAVOURITE AUNT!!!
Wouldn't have survived lockdown without Zia's funny stories of my childhood.  One in particular stands out.  Zia Everina made me in charge of the scissors!!!  Zio Pasquelino and my dad Zio Gino would get soooo drunk every Sunday, they would cut each others hair!!!  So when my dad hit the driveway, it was my job to run in the house find the scissors and hide them!!! 
She was always so loving and comforting, she will be missed so so  much!!!  Deepest Sympathy and Condolences to all!! XO

Cara Zia Evrina, ci mancherai! Nonostante la lontananza fisica, abbiamo apprezzato e ricorderemo sempre, la grinta e la caparbietà con cui affrontavi i problemi, la bellezza che avevi e che mettevi in tutto ciò che facevi e il brioso umorismo con cui ci intrattenevi al telefono. Ricordo che scherzavi sempre sulla lingua inglese; la usavi per farci le più semplici domande e quando noi non capivamo il tuo slang, facevi sentire la tua autorità e un po' ti stupivi dei nostri errori. Ci raccontavi di guardare i programmi della Rai e leggere alcuni quotidiani. Eri sempre informatissima sugli avvenimenti "italiani", sia di politica, sia di gossip. Sei stata una donna che sicuramente ha portato con sé, e ha fatto conoscere, l'Italia vera con i suoi buoni e grandi valori. Grazie di tutto, ti ricorderemo nelle nostre preghiere sì, ma soprattutto nella nostra vita di tutti i giorni. Sei stata talmente forte da far entrare, un po' di te, nei nostri discorsi quotidiani. Fai buon viaggio e salutaci tutti. Marcella&Tonino, Luisella, Cinzia, Alessia e tutte le nostre famiglie. 

Rosaria Evrina Pappone, Zia Evrina to us.  She was strong, true to her convictions, a great sense of humor, and an entertaining conversationalist.  She was also absolutely stunning a real beauty inside and out.

Growing up she would joke about how young she looked. When my sisters, Anna and I were together she would turn her back to us, let down her beautiful thick, dark shining hair and state ''I look like a teenager'' we would snicker and agree.  She would then turn around and laugh along with us.

When I would occasionally  visit, she would comment on how I looked, if I had gained weight she would tell me I was fat, she never minced words,  and proceeded to feed me a three course meal and expect me to finish every bite. You know her food and form of cooking didn't make you fat, it made you skinny, so she believed. Ohhhh she was  funny.  I truly enjoyed our visits, she would often tell stories of her youth growing up in Italy with her siblings. 

In recent years I would call or she would call me, and in every conversation she would tell me of her dream, of playing cards with my mother, and my mother always winning.   Well, I hope they are playing cards now and that Zia Evrina is winning.  

Zia you will be dearly missed,

My Heartfelt and Deepest Condolences to the family.
I am going to miss my bi-weekly espresso dates and SkipBo card games (where Evrina always let me win). I am going to miss all the wonderful stories she told me about growing up in Santo Stefano. I am going to miss her beautiful garden roses that she gave to me every year as a bouquet for my June birthday. But most of all, I am going to miss her in my life.

On this day, I was in her area on business and stopped by with coffees.  Such a generous lady, she gifted me a fabulous Yves Rocher gift set !

In a world filled with so many indecent people, Zia Everina was definitely in a class of her own.
