It is with great sadness that we announce Roy's passing on March 12, 2012 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Lois for 61 years. Loving father of Janice Young (Rob), Julie and Susan. Cherished grandfather of Colin and Leah Young. Leaves behind his brother Doug (Marion). After proudly serving in the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII, he went to work for Bell Canada where he enjoyed a long career in engineering. Upon retirement he kept busy at a second successful career in real estate. He was a man of varied hobbies and interests, including baseball (the Blue Jays have lost a die hard fan). He was an avid golfer and curler and was a long time member of both the Spring Lakes Golf Club and the Unionville Curling Club. Roy was a gifted wood carver and won a number of awards. Winters in Florida with family and friends were another great joy to Roy and Lois. Roy will be remembered by all for his kindness, good nature and a sense of humour second to none. If so desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. There will be no public service held, a private family cremation has already taken place.
