

Shirley was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Ontario at age 2, spending her growing years in the Welland area and West-end Toronto.
Shirley worked a variety of jobs during her life. She worked in a small ammunition plant, she was a limo driver and, she retired as a Book Binder from Grand & Toy.
Shirley received the Jim Seabrook Volunteer Award and the Sharon Duncan Volunteer Award in 2002. She loved volunteering, playing games and just being able to lend a hand when she could.
Shirley and Dad loved to travel and she was a travel coordinator for the West Scarborough Seniors for 21 years. The seniors went on many adventures in Canada, the US, Europe and her favourite place, Russia.
Her advice always was, "Travel while you can".
Shirley joined the Red Hats and made even more friends.
As a very active person, Shirley loved roller skating, downhill skiing, square dancing, scuba diving, and dancing.
She especially loved spending time at her beloved cottage with her family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Melvin and Isabel (Peggy) Cryderman and her sister, Norma. Also predeceased by her Husbands, Ernest Blackburn, Edward Brandon and William (Bill) Bates.
Shirley is survived by her children, Edward (Donna Townley) Blackburn, Mel (Laura DuBroy) Blackburn, John (Kerry) Bates and Sandra (Guido) Haas.
Six grandchildren, Cindy Scott, Chad (Sheila) Brandon, Sarah Bates, Kristen (Frank Byrnes) Bates, Matthew (Shannan) Haas and, Doug (Stephanie) Haas. Seven great grandchildren, Zackery, Jessica, Christopher, Jireh, Alana, Alexandria and, Lily.
