Dear Alex, Bruce, Ross and Emily,
We were so saddened to hear of Shirley's death and are keeping you all close in our thoughts.  My mother enjoyed Shirley's friendship, long chats and always spoke so highly of your family's presence on Garnet Island.  We are all the better for having known Shirley. Shirley brought such joy and laughter to every meet or competition she judged. Many fun-filled memories will be fondly remembered of this special lady, friend and judging colleague.

I am so sorry that Shirley will not be around to share her quirky sense of humour, or her caring and compassionate ways. She gave much to those around her, just by her presence. I was blessed to have known her for many years and have appreciated her loving and caring ways, and that wit of hers! I have known and judged with Shirley for over a dozen years and her presence is sorely missed! My sympathies and condolences to all of you.

I am so shocked at the news.  Shirley was a wonderful person and a great asset as a judge in the gymnastics world.  She helped the coaches and the kids keep calm at each competition and she had fun doing it.  She will surely be missed by all judges, coaches and gymnasts that knew her fun personality and familiar face at all competitions.  I will always remember the wonderful moments and conversations that we shared at many competitions.  My condolences to everyone in Shirley's family.  RIP Shirley!!!  You will be missed!

I am so very sad to hear this news.  I judged with Shirley for so many years, and enjoyed her company even before when she was just "mom" to Emily at gyros! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I know how much she cherished you all and how much she loved being a 'nana'.  I just bet that Shirley is up in heaven, sitting with her best friend Mary Ellen, reading a book, telling a story or looking at some pictures together.  Rest in peace Shirley, you will be missed.

Shirley was always in such great spirits on every judging panel.  All of the athletes and coaches will surely miss her humor and smiles.  My sympathies to the Stewart family, I am at a loss for words.
