Stella Maria Cristello

Born in Cardinale, Catanzaro, Italy, on December 21, 1931, Stella Maria Cristello (Costa), passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Kensington Gardens on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the age of 90.

She with her husband Salvatore and three young sons immigrated to Canada in 1962. While Salvatore worked tirelessly around the clock, she was a devoted homemaker and backbone of the family, happily raising 6 children in a loving environment where all could flourish.

She is predeceased by her loving son Lario Bruno, her parents Giuseppe and Carmela Costa, her sister Elisa Patella (Giorgio), and her brothers Giovanni (Kate), Sebastiano, and Salvatore Costa.

Beloved wife of Salvatore Cristello. Dearly loved mother of Joe (Rose), Luciano (Clara), Louie (Patty), Isabella, Robert (Cathy). Cherished Nonna of Lauren, Nicole, Sarah, Alexandra (Phil Baney), Alyssa, Stephanie, Samantha, Samuel, Gabriel, and Great-Granddaughter Ava Rae Baney. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

The Cristello family wishes to thank all those at Kensington Gardens who cared for Stella the past 4 years and especially the turbulent last 2.

Family and friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W (1 block east of Dufferin) on Sunday, April 10, from 1-4pm and 6-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 11am at St. Clare Church, 1118 St. Clair Ave. W. (For those that are not able to attend the Mass in person, it will be livestreamed at 11 am, please go the Funeral Mass information to click on "Join Livestream"). Interment to follow at Prospect Cemetery, 1450 St. Clair Ave. W.

PLEASE NOTE: Although masks are no longer mandatory to attend visitation, the Cristello family would like to encourage all guests that attend to maintain social distancing and continue safe practices in regards to the COVID-19 virus.
