It is with profound love and grief that we announce the passing of Teodoro (Ted) Pisante on July 24, 2025, at the age of 79. Ted was a devoted and loving husband to Franca, his partner in life for over 50 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and resilience.
Ted was a proud and caring father and father-in-law to Margherita and Mark, Melissa, Antoinette and Daniel, and Domenic and Daniela. His greatest joy came from being Nonno to Amalia, Jamie, and Victoria—his face lighting up every time they entered the room. He was also a beloved son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, Zio, and cherished friend to so many whose lives he touched with his warmth, humour and dancing skills.
Born in Satriano, Italy, Ted spent his early years surrounded by the traditions and beauty of his hometown before bravely immigrating to Canada as a young man in search of new opportunities. It was here that he found not only a home but also love and purpose. He embraced his new life with an open heart—never losing his roots, but always looking forward.
Ted had an unmistakable zest for life. Whether he was planning a spontaneous trip, dancing with abandon, or laughing until tears rolled down his face, he did everything with a passion that was infectious. His spirit was adventurous, his smile unforgettable, and his energy boundless. He was a familiar and joyful presence at Canada’s Wonderland, family gatherings, and anywhere fun could be found.
Professionally, Ted dedicated much of his life to his work and colleagues. He was deeply proud of what he achieved over a long and fulfilling career, and he remained committed to his craft until retiring at the age of 76. His dedication and integrity left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
More than anything, Ted will be remembered for the way he made others feel—seen, valued, and loved. His dancing, his laughter, and his gentle kindness will live on in all who knew him. To honour his life, please dance a little more freely, laugh a little louder, and make time for those you love—just as he always did.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the many family members and friends who have shown us love and support over the last few months. Your kindness and care have been a true comfort.
In lieu of flowers, and if you feel moved to do so, donations in memory of Ted may be made to Dorothy Ley Hospice or St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation in recognition of the wonderful and compassionate care they provided to him.
