Valerie was born on February 14, 1942 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late Robert Frederick MacDonald and Irene Armanella Smith.
Valerie married Gordon Timothy Walker on October 1st, 1960 and they had three sons. She worked as an educational assistant in Toronto for 38 years. Valerie loved working with children and supporting various school programs and activities.
Valerie is survived by her beloved sons Tim (Kathy), Tony (Shirley) and John (Rachel and her daughter Hannah). She was a cherished Grandma to Michael (Courtney), Ryan (Sarah) and Cody (Vanessa) and Great-Grandma to Victoria, Alice, Bradley and James.
Valerie was predeceased by her husband Gordon and brother Robert. She will also be dearly missed by many siblings from afar, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, located at 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON, M4C1L3, Canada, on February 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The funeral service will follow at the same location on February 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In memory of Valerie donations to Diabetes Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
