With a poise that mirrored the grace of a cherry blossom's descent, Jean departed from this world, finding tranquility in the embrace of the Palliative Care Unit at Providence Villal Hospital, concluding a life that spanned an impressive 96 years. Her journey home reunited her with her cherished husband Tetsuo (1926-2013), beloved sister Kaye (1923-2023), and brother Takeo (1926-1998), all of whom had embarked on their eternal odyssey before her.
Jean's legacy, etched in the annals of time, survives through the unwavering devotion of her loving son Stephen and the endearing affection of her grandchildren, Kyle and Kiana, who carry forth the torch of her memory.
As a beacon of warmth, Jean was a loving aunt to nieces, nephews, and their families, radiating joy and embodying the essence of a cherished friend to many. The outpouring of love and support, a testament to the depth of connections forged throughout her remarkable life, continued to surround her, cradling her gently in her final days, a reflection of the boundless love she generously shared with all fortunate enough to know her.
A private "Celebration of Life" will be held, an intimate gathering where family will come together to honor Jean's profound impact. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Momiji Health Care Society (momiji.on.ca), an organization reflecting Jean's commitment to enriching lives.
