Mrs. Shaw was born Sept. 16, 1926 in Adairville, Ky. and was a 1942 graduate of Adairville High School. Following high school, she attended Draughons Business College in Nashville, Tenn. She was a dedicated housewife and loving mother, and worked in retail management at J.J. Newberry & Co. in the former South Bay Center for many years.
She was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband of 57 years, Daniel Lee Shaw.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel G. Shaw of Louisville, Ky. and David L. Shaw of Berkeley, Calif.; three grandchildren, Daniel E. Shaw of Jeffersonville, Ind.; Skye Shaw and Ivy Shaw of Berkeley, Calif.; and several nieces.
Visitation will be at White and Day Colonial Mortuary, 901 Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach on Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held in the mortuary's chapel on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association.
