Ann Louise McKay

May 18, 1946 – December 4, 2024 Redondo Beach, CA

Ann Louise McKay passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 4,2024 at the age of 78. Born in Storkhaven Maternity Hospital in Hermosa Beach, CA to Helen Grace Croft Rhoads and Carl Austin Rhoads. Ann was their only child. She grew up in Redondo Beach attending elementary school and graduated from Redondo Union High School Class of 1964. After graduation she trained as a beautician. Later, she decided to switch to business and earned her AA from El Camino JC. She spent many years working in accounting, but her greatest pride and purpose came from her family and her faith.

Ann loved to travel and one of her favorite places was Yosemite. She traveled there with family and friends and loved sleeping in the tent cabins, later spending time at the Ahwahnee Hotel and hiking to Vernal and Nevada Falls. Later in life she was able to expand her travels to include Hawaii, Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Germany. Also, many ocean cruises. She loved the trip to Alaska.

But the most important person in her life was our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior. Whenever someone was going through trials and Ann heard about it, they were immediately on her prayer list. There are numerous accounts where people have given her credit for interceding with the Lord and her prayers being answered. Her faith was an anchor in her life, she found strength in her Bible and joy in the many friends she met while worshipping the Lord.

She leaves her loving husband, Fred and daughter Michelle (Eric) Sullivan and her beloved grandchildren, Daphne, Gretta, Roxanne and Elijah Sullivan and great grandson Wesley. She was pre-deceased by her parents.

Ann’s strength, resilience and unwavering faith touched all who knew her. She will forever be missed by her family and friends, reminding us of all the love, loyalty and laughter she so freely shared.

Private services held with a Celebration of Life with internment at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
