November 30, 1972 - February 24, 2024
In the early morning hours of February 24, Anthony "Tony" Joseph Sanger, 51, of Manhattan Beach, California, passed away suddenly of a pulmonary embolism in an Anaheim hospital.
Tony was a gifted student, skipping a grade, when he moved from Michigan to Los Angeles. He graduated from Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach. Tony then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Berkeley, in three years. Tony was on track to make waves!
Tony started as an entrepreneur taking over a truck washing business that he had worked at after college. He then began his career as an Aerospace Satellite Engineer at Northrop Grumman for 12 years and was a Senior Specialist Engineer at L3 Harris for the past 11 years. During the pandemic, Tony started an online business, shipping a variety of protein bars and snacks throughout the country. Based on numerous reviews and emails that he received, these much-needed products were appreciated by his customers.
When Tony and his wife, Devie, met, it was an instant connection. Their love kept them growing strong for over 15 years. Tony was a loving and devoted husband who passionately enjoyed running, hiking, playing tennis, solving very complex 3-D combination puzzles like Rubik’s, and relaxing at home with Devie. Although possessing a very quiet and relaxed demeanor, Tony was super competitive, whether it be playing chess or running in the Manhattan Beach 10K Run – and he did not tolerate defeat well!
Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Carmen Sanger and his father, Wayne Anthony Sanger.
Tony is survived by his wife, Devie, his brother, Robert (Kristen) Sanger, his sister, Maria-Theresa Sanger, his nephews, Kai and Kobi, his niece, Naomi, and his parents-in-law, Demy and Viola. Tony also left behind many on his in-law’s side, including one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, and many cousins, too.
A Celebration of Life is set for March 16, 2024.
