I wish to express my deepest sympathies to Calvin\'s family and especially to Calvin\'s son, Bart Stebbins, my good friend.      The loss of a loved one is difficult.  Their passing reminds us that life is a precious gift and that our own life has been enriched by having known them and loved them.  Many of my friends died in Vietman and years later, both of my parents.  However, they are all still alive in my heart.  I think of them often and speak out laud to them from time to time. My dear Diane and Bart,      How do I say in words what is in my heart?  How do I describe to you the place Calvin had in my heart? How do I describe the beacon that Calvin was on the street?  He once told me that he\'d look across the street and know that I was there.  Well, I\'d look across the street and know that he was there.  The emptiness I feel is deep. Many years ago I was introduced to Calvin by his grandson John. I instantly liked him. He had a way of making me feel like I was part of the family. It was the way he looked at me...you could just see that he cared.       The fondest memory I have is a simple but meaningful one to me. I was sitting on the couch in the livingroom and he offered me a Coke in a bottle. We sat, talked,laughed,(Calvin always made me laugh!) and looked at his garden in the back yard.        In these simple moments, relationships are made...and they last, even if only in our memories.  Thanks Calvin!

I truly believe in Guardian Angels.  They come in many forms, and at many different times in our lives.  Moving in and out of our everyday doings, hopes and dreams.  Clavin was that Guardian Angel to me.  He opened his arms to me when I could not fly.  Becoming his buddy was an honor, something nobody could ever take away from me.   Everyone in life needs a Calvin:  He made you laugh, cry, and believe in yourself.  Calvin holds such a special place in my soul.     Spending many days and nights with Calvin and Cody gave me the opportunity to learn many lifes lessons. I am really going to miss him.  He was my adopted step-dad.     My prayers and thoughts go  to Diane, Bart, Cody and the other family members I have had the opportunity to share Calvin\'s life with.
