

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carole J. Colby, who passed peacefully at home on July 17, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on February 10, 1942, Carole was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cherished friend, companion, and respected lifetime community member of Torrance, CA.
Spending her youth in Torrance, some of her hobbies included baton twirling, dance, and playing the clarinet in the School Band. She graduated from Torrance High School in 1959 and started her career in the medical field in 1963.
In 1987, she began working in the aerospace industry as a Project Manager at Boeing International. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from LaVerne University in 1988 and happily retired in 2007.
In her retirement, she enjoyed league bowling, traveling to Texas to visit her grandsons, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. She led the Monday Night Meals program at First Lutheran Church, Torrance, CA, and donated handmade goods to the patients of the Pediatrics wing at Harbor General UCLA Medical Center, Torrance, Ca.
She touched the lives of many with her kindness and friendship, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Carole was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and friends, the Christian Church, and values. She approached life with optimism, always willing to lend a helping hand and share her faith, friendship, and warm smile with all.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Larkins and Clyde Moore of Oklahoma, and sister, Beverly ‘Jeannie’ Faren-Lombardi.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Ayman Abdou; three children, W. Christopher Colby and wife, Kim, M. Craig Colby and wife, Anne, and daughter Amel Jeanine Abdou; three grandchildren, Mitchell and Landon Colby (M. Craig and Anne Colby), Ashleigh Colby-Young and husband Steve Young (W. Christopher Colby); and one great-granddaughter, Savannah Young (Ashleigh and Steve Young). And many cherished, longtime friends.
Carole will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved. May she rest in eternal peace.
