Catherine Mary Markham

Cathy, also known as “Tuney,” was born to Helen and Ross Marquez on Oct 15th 1954 in San Pedro, California. She attended Carson High School, graduating class of 1973, and expressed her passion through Drum and Bugle Corps.

At the age of 19, Cathy started working as an administrative assistant for TRW, which was later acquired by Northrop Grumman. Cathy dedicated a remarkable 49 years to the company as a Senior Principal Budget Analyst before retiring in 2022.

Cathy enjoyed live music, and through this shared bond, she met her love, David Markham. The couple married June 1st 1985 and started building their family home in Carson, California. Cathy’s devotion to her family was unmatched and extended this generosity and compassion to her community. She was full of life, had a playful sense of humor, and a contagious laugh that brought a lot of light to her family and friends. She had a passion for cooking and experimenting with dishes, while hosting parties for her guests. She also loved gardening, attending musicals and concerts.

Cathy is a beautiful soul who will be remembered by her witty candor, her wise counsel, and the love and joy within her heart. Her presence will be missed immeasurably, yet we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her husband, David Markham.
