1931-2008
Cathryn Ann Moore of Torrance passed away on March 16, 2008 of a lung disease. She died at home in her own bed with family by her side. She was born in Illinois on December 16, 1931 and came of age in Michigan, where she went to high school and met and married her first husband and had two children, Lorraine B. and James R. Johnson. As a family, they moved to California and eventually settled in the South Bay. She taught school for most of her adult life and enjoyed playing bridge. A number of years after her first husband died, she married Oren Moore, who became the love of her life and devoted husband for more than seventeen years. Cathy will always be remembered for her good humor, strength, independence and love. She is survived by her husband, Oren Moore, her two children, Lorraine and James, four grandchildren, Austin, Sophie, Jennifer and Nicole, her sister, Marilyn Cilecek and her Aunt Maxine Shaw and many good friends. She will stay in our hearts. A remembrance for Cathy will be held at the family home on Saturday, March 22nd at 3:00 pm.
