Charles "Charlie" Louis Porteous

Charles Louis "Charlie" Porteous, a 55 year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 in San Pedro. Born in Hawaii, Charlie was 60 when he died. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church of Redondo Beach, and a graduate of Mira Costa High School. Charlie was a Professional Musician and a Security Consultant. He enjoyed outdoor exploring, gold-panning, collecting guns and knives, playing electronic computer games, jewelry making, writing in his journal, photography, cruising on his motorcycle, and everything about cars. He also enjoyed all types of music and movies.

Charlie is survived by his mother, Ida Porteous of Redondo Beach, CA; daughter, Megan Porteous of Torrance, CA; brother, William Porteous of Victoria, BC; sister, Charlotte Watts of Redondo Beach, CA; granddaughter Jayden; nephews Ian, Shane, and Hunter; great-nephews Logan, Cole, and Brandon; nieces Laura, Emily, and Kellie; and great-nieces Gabby and Eva. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen, and his father, William A. Porteous.

A gathering of family & friends will be held at White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach on Wednesday July 13, 2011 from 5 to 9pm. The Memorial Service will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach on Thursday July 14 at 10am. Burial will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
