David Stanley Bostwick, a life-long resident of the South Bay, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in Torrance. Born in Hawthorne, CA, David was 56 when he died from colon cancer. David was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers and SSPC.
David is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandy Bostwick of Torrance, CA; his son, Jeremy Bostwick of Redondo Beach; his parents, Gordon Bostwick of Palmdale, CA and Julia Bostwick of Redondo Beach; sister, Ruth Bostwick of Van Nuys, CA; sister, Linda Kitchen of Trinidad, TX; brother, Ron Bostwick of Van Nuys, CA; and sister, Carol Frederick of Chino, CA.
David was a man of all seasons when it came to living his life to the fullest. He was an accomplished surfer, sailor, motorcycle enthusiast and rock climber. His house was brick and mortar, but he was very comfortable at sea, climbing mountains or laying his head under the stars.
David's ashes will be spread out on the ocean and a gathering of family and friends were his last wishes. In lieu of flowers or donations his wife and family would like to request that you all consider a colonoscopy as a present to yourself.
