

Dorothy Ruffin age 79 was a native of Mobile, Alabama and a 58 year resident of Los Angeles, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Earl Ruffin, mother Lillie Bell Robbins and father Judge Chambers. Dorothy was united in Holy Matrimony to Robert Earl Ruffin of Mobile, Alabama in 1963. They then moved to Los Angeles where they raised four children. Dorothy was employed in food service for several years and served as a certified Nurse Assistant, prior to beginning a 25 year career in the Los Angeles Unified School District as an Educational Aide and a Special Education Assistant. She was a member of Greater Holy Light Missionary Baptist Church and later a member of Greater St John Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully throughout the years as an ordained Minister, a Sunday School Superintendent, Mother’s Board President, and in various other church leadership positions leading others to Christ. She is survived by two devoted daughters Veronica Aretha Ruffin and Danita Rene Ruffin; two devoted sons Don Ameche (Arlene) Ruffin and Leo Demiro Ruffin. A devoted sister Willie Mae Collins and a devoted brother Lewis Lee (Delores) Robbins. Two devoted sister-in-laws Pauline (John) Rudolph, and Gladys Davis. Cherished nieces and nephews, Myrtice (Eric) Agee, Myra Rudolph, Aeriel Walley, Angela Davis, Melanie (Alton) Hardy, Janine (Chris) Wilson, John Rudolph and Paul Martel Ruffin and a host of loving grandchildren, family and friends.
