Redencion “Eden” Dipasupil, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on July 30, 2023 at the age of 84 after a valiant two-year battle against multiple myeloma. Eden was born August 1938 in Calauag, Philippines. Her family would eventually move to Manila. Eden attended Mapua University where she met the love of her life, Sal Dipasupil, who would be her husband for over 63 years. They later relocated their family to the United States, living in Monterey Park, CA; Bronx, NY; Orangeburg, NY, and then in Houston, TX and Richmond, TX, where they would happily reside for decades before moving to Torrance, CA for Eden’s final years.
Eden worked as a payroll accountant at various corporations. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, reading, cruising/travel, word puzzles/searches, cooking, karaoke and spending time with family and friends. She later discovered her talent for painting on canvas, t-shirts, and greeting cards. Eden and Sal went on over 50 cruises together, sometimes getting recognized by other cruisers who had seen them ballroom dancing on different cruises.
She lovingly helped several of her siblings relocate from the Philippines to her home state of Texas. She had a large group of friends within the Filipino American community in Houston, serving in various associations and attending many social events/dances. If there was a pop song with a line dance, chances are that Eden, her husband and their friends knew it! But most of all, Eden loved and looked forward to seeing her family, most of whom lived in other states. She was always overjoyed when surrounded by family whether she was hosting them in her home for the holidays or traveling to exciting locations with them.
She is survived by her husband Sal; son Romeo DiPasupil and wife Evelyn “Gigi” Galeon; daughter Shirley Day and partner Scott Klatte; daughter Sally Stokes and husband Jon; daughter Sharon Benerofe; grandchildren Anthony DiPasupil, Kevin DiPasupil (Rachel Chen), Daniel Stokes, Sarah Thompson and husband John, Jacob Stokes and Caruso Benerofe; sisters Adela and Eva, brothers Tony and Medel, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfredo and Purificacion, sisters Esmeralda, Fe and Teresa, brothers Luis, Alphonso, Edoardo and an additional infant brother, half brother Godofredo, son-in-law Greg and beloved pets Blondie and Sherlock.
