Erlinda R. Teran went home to be with the Lord suddenly on June 8th 2023. She passed away due to a car accident after suffering a diabetic emergency. She was 69 years old and enjoyed a full and loving life. She is survived by her brother David and her three sisters Nelly, Maria and Diane; her son Pedro Jr., her daughter Desireé, and her stepdaughters Monica and Denise. Also by her 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Erlinda was born on December 10th, 1953 in Los Angeles, California to Theodore F. and Gavina P. Reyes. In 1965 the family moved to Carson, California where she grew up and spent most of her life.
Erlinda graduated from Banning High School in 1972. She worked for Winchell’s Donuts for about 10 years until 1983. She married Pedro Teran in 1984 and together they had two children Pedro Jr. and Desireé. After taking time off to raise her kids she returned to the workforce in 1995 working at Target and also for the LAUSD for 20+ years until she had to retire for medical reasons in 2019.
Being raised catholic and attending a private catholic elementary school gave Erlinda a strong base for her faith but it wasn’t until the early 2000s that she began developing a more personal relationship with God thanks to friendships with other believers. In 2013 she began attending Praise Chapel Redondo Beach and was a faithful member until her passing. She loved to worship and talk with her church family, whom she loved dearly.
She loved a lot of things during her lifetime like dancing, singing, good movies, taking trips, being in nature, and John Travolta. But what she loved most only second to the Lord, was her grandchildren. Starting with her first batch; Selina, Diana, David, Joseph, Edward, and Josiah. And ending with her second batch; Nayeli, Natalia, Peter, Olivia, Renieri Jr. And Iliana. Anyone who knew her for even a short while knew that she was a very proud grandma!
Erlinda will be deeply missed, but her loved ones rejoice, for she is finally home. Memorial Services for Erlinda will be held on Saturday July 8th @10:30am at Lighthouse Mortuary In Gardena.
