Esther Frances Brooks

Esther Brooks passed away on November 4, 2008 at the age of 92. She was born on October 22nd, 1916 and married Ivan Brooks in 1937. They owned several bars and restaurants in the Orange County area over 32 years including the 616 Club in Santa Ana where Esther worked many hours. Esther and her husband retired in 1971 and moved to Maine where Esther was a member of the Historical Society and the Garden club. She was also a member of the Mormon Church. In 2003 she and Ivan moved to Rancho Palos Verdes Estates where she remained active with her church and family. Esther recently lost her grandson, Jim Bland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Brooks. Esther is survived by a daughter, 2 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 3 sisters. A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sat. Nov. 15 at 1 PM. The location is 5845 Crestridge Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. A memorial fund has been set up in Esther's name through the Historical Society, PO Box 39, Robbinston, ME 04671.

November 12, 2008 Sarah Esther's great grandaughter gave birth to a baby girl Natalia. She is Esther's great great grandaughter making the 5th generation.
