Zins, Frank Thomas, "Sonny", a long-time resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 in Torrance. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Frank was 76 when he died. Frank was a member of St. Lawrence Martyr Church of Redondo Beach. Frank attended Mount Carmel High School Los Angeles class of 1953 then St. John's Seminary in Camarillo. Frank was an area manager in San Diego for Pan AM Airlines for 20 years and worked for McCormick Mortuary for the past 25 years. Frank is survived by his sister, Barbara Gulick of Redondo Beach, CA; brother, Jerry (Ilene) Zins of Camarillo, CA; sister-in-law, June Zins of Sacramento, CA; and many adored nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Zins and Mary McCarthy; sister Jackie Schunk, sister Patricia Zins and brother George Zins. The Memorial Service will be held at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church in Redondo Beach on Friday June 3, 2011 at 10am followed by a Reception in the Church Hall. Private burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in Frank's honor.
