Gary “Gig” Swanson lived his life quietly, simply, and exactly as he intended. Never married and without children, he built a life centered around the things he valued most — friendship, family, independence, and the outdoors.
Through hard work and wise choices, he was able to retire early and enjoy life on his own terms. He was a devoted son to his parents, a caring brother to his siblings, and a loyal friend to many.
He loved camping, dune buggy trips, hunting, dogs, and sharing beers and laughter with the people he cared about most. Some of his most cherished moments were the late-night fireside chats, where stories were shared, laughter came easy, and time seemed to slow down just a little. He will be remembered for his steady presence, simple joys, and the genuine connections he made throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
If you knew Gary, we would love for you to share a memory, story, or a few words about what he meant to you. Even the smallest memories can bring comfort and help celebrate the life he lived.
