Born on June 14, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, Helen was the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (nee Batoudakis) Vardakis and sister of the late A. Charles Vardakis.
After a successful career as a NYS real estate broker, she relocated to California which was always a dream of hers. She loved her family, grandchildren and dogs more than anything. Helen enjoyed rooting for the Yankees after her Brooklyn Dodgers left NY, the beach and California sunsets.
She is survived by her husband Peter, son Louis Lagios and his wife Nina; and her daughter Christina Antaky and her husband James as well as five grandchildren: Daniella, Luke, Derek, Victoria and Layla.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, 722 Knob Hill Ave, Redondo Beach, California with burial at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Rheumatology Research Foundation in Helen's memory.
