Born of an immigrant father who came to work on the spaghetti railroad and mother from Texas, Irene enjoyed growing up on a farm and moving to Rockford, Illinois where she played baseball while the men were at WWII. She was Rosie the Riveter and enjoyed dancing at the USO where she met her husband Bill. They loved to dance together - the jitterbug and swing. They moved to Santa Monica and then to the South Bay where she eventually lived alone for the last 34 years.
She loved to travel and collect antiques. She supported the scouts and teams of her children and grandchildren, her church, and worked at Zoyas modeling and retailing until she was 80. She walked every day and was active physically until she was 94. She was a Deer at the Elks in Redondo and loved her social life and her family and friends. She wanted to go home to her Mom. Irene was a grand and lovely woman and will be missed by many.
Good Nite Irene until we meet again…
