
Jimmy was born James Patrick Aiken in Brattleboro, Vermont on August 14, 1953 and passed into eternal life in Hermosa Beach on September 15, 2009. Jimmy moved to Hermosa Beach with his family at the age of seven, went to Hermosa Beach grade schools and graduated from El Segundo High School, class of 1971. He played basketball and baseball for the Eagles and was a member of the 1971 CIF Championship baseball team. Following high school he joined the LAPD and spent most of his career assigned to West Division. During his service he received several commendations for outstanding service. After leaving the department he started a career as an electrician specializing in residential and commercial construction projects in the South Bay. Jimmy was active in the South Redondo Little League as a coach/manager and league representative for many years. Jimmy also had a passion for fresh water fishing and loved the streams of California, Idaho and Montana. Jimmy will be best remembered for his willingness to always lend a helping hand and for his quick wit and delightful sense of humor.
Jimmy is survived by his sons Ryan of Torrance and JT of Denver, his sister Carol Holmes of Torrance and several cousins in Vermont. A private memorial will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009.
