I wish he'd gotten a chance to meet his three grandchildren.  They all share his blue eyes, and quick sense  of humor,  and I've raised them to always be proud of all his incredible work with the LAPD.  I miss you Dad.

You were the love of my life, my soulmate.  I think of you everyday, my mind knows that you are in a better place but my heart tells me something different.  You not being here has left a huge hole in my heart, which I'm afraid will never heal.  I know you knew that I loved you but I wished that I could have told you one last time, that I could have said goodbye.  Rest in peace sweetheart, see you in a little while.

Growing up, Jimmy was like a big brother to me. Jim and Betty lived behind my parents home in El Segundo. Jimmy always did a good job of acting like a big brother, he teased me but he also was there if anything went wrong too. Jimmy always had funny stories and would keep us all laughing so hard we cried. He was very close to my Dad throughout his life. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. The world will laugh a little less without his humor. I believe that he is doing what he did when I was little, he's in heaven watching out for me. Rest In Peace Jimmy.

Jim was a teammate on the 71 Eagles team and the JV Basketball team in 70. He wrote in my year book "To my Basketball and Baseball Buddy, see you in the future and take it easy. Good Luck    Jim "AIK" After he graduated in 71 I don't think I ever saw him again. We played on the same 1969 Worlds Series Team. He was not just a teammate but a good friend. I know Jim had a good heart. I have thought of Jim Aiken often over the years and do cherish those day of baseball and basketball. We had some great teams.

I only new Jimmy 3 days. I met him a few months before he died. He talked of his sons, wife and family. He talked about how proud he was of his sons and much he loved his wife. He talked about being a police officer, baseball, Montana and God. He said hanging out with me made him feel young again. From the moment I met him I felt like he was a friend I have known my whole life. We just connected.       Jimmy had a gift of making people feel comfortable and happy when he was around. He made people smile and laugh. The world has lost a beautiful soul. Even though I only knew him 3 days, Jimmy will live in my heart as long as I am alive. That is how much he touched me in the short time I knew him.       Good Bless you Jimmy and your family and friends. The world is a better place because of you. YOUR FRIEND

I worked w/ Jimmy back in 1978 in WLA Div. in the SPU Unit. We spent alot of time in police cars talking. I lost track of Jimmy when he left the dept. I have worked w/ quite a few police officers in my time and can truly say he was the best police officer I have ever worked with. I have alot of good memories of Jimmy. No matter his plight in life, may he rest in peace......

It's been a LONG time but who could forget Jimmy? An Irishman's fiesty blue eyes, quick wit & mischievious smile. I am proud to have called him a friend.   To JT and Ryan-I know you lost your father long before his death but I pray you (and your mothers) try & remember 1 good time and hold onto that. Jim did some work in our home and we talked alot about baseball and his son Ryan.  Recently I'd seen him by the Hermosa Pier from time to time and he was so sweet and remembered our family well. I will miss seeing him and talking to him when I take my walks on the beach.  Praying for you during this difficult loss.

To my old friend Jim thanks for all the good times.All the fun at South Redondo with you Tony,George and Russ.And for always helping to teach Daniel the great game of baseball. Some of my best times were playing in all our softball games with all the guys we will all miss you. May you rest in peace   Your old friend Larry Macias. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan and his family. Some of the fondest memories in my life include the hours and hours I spent with Jim at Dominguez Park doing everything from digging holes for the scoreboard piers, pulling wire, talking baseball, and talking more baseball. I am proud to say that I was Jimmy's High School Baseball coach at El Segundo High School. He was our LF and Cleanup hitter on our team that won the CIF Championship.   Over the years,I have seen Jim from time to time, the last time when he was very excited about his son playing baseball. Jimmy was a good kid who loved baseball and his family. I worked two years with Jimmy at West LA Division (1977 & 1978).  He was a great partner. The news of his passing is heartbreaking.
